ROOM 2
In this hub for computer science, you'll see no built-in computers. The school runs a laptop scheme to ensure that every student has a good computer they can bring to school each day, to use as and when they need it to support and enhance their learning.
ROOM 6
Why do you fall backwards when the tube carriage lurches forward? How can you kick a football over the goalkeeper and into the net? Why you can predict solar eclipses next century but not the weather next Tuesday? Mechanics can help us answer all these questions, often in room 6!

You will find students all round the room discovering the next exciting nugget of mathematics on the curriculum like "how likely is it that the number 785994771137 is a prime number (and why might the CIA want to know?)"
ROOM 4
You might find a class in room 4 getting to grips with some of the following questions from core maths:
How can you solve the equation x² = -4 ?
Why can’t you solve x² + 5y² = 10003 if x and y are integers?
How does your calculator know that sin45° = 0.707... ?

The hall can be set up as a classroom for up to 40 students, a lecture theatre for 80, or a multi-table table tennis venue! A huge drop-down screen and speaker system add modern presenting power to the much-loved rolling chalkboards on which advanced mathematics and physics often lies.
Futures board
Our students go on to study at the very best institutions in the UK and around the world. The vast majority take up degrees in the mathematical sciences at Russell Group universities, with around a quarter going to Oxbridge. This summer students gained places at Cambridge, Oxford, Warwick, Kings, UCL, Imperial, Princeton to name just a few.

Maths is all round us! Particularly so in the maths of motion and forces (mechanics). We constantly use real world applications and seek to bring the subject to life with experiments and demonstrations.
Lockers
Our lockers for all our students: the distribution of yellow, white and grey colours here was created using a sequence of pseudorandom numbers generated by a computer.
Concertina wall
These two classrooms have a retractable wall to enable a large flexible space for combined teaching, dance classes, club and society meetings and much more.
Whiteboards
There are whiteboards everywhere! We use them to develop ideas, make mistakes and practise techniques. They provide a wonderful way to collaborate and learn.
Physics experiment!
Physics is a mix of theory and reality. Our labs are filled daily with a range of equipment that demonstrates the full range of physical phenomena explored at A Level.
Blackboard + chalk
There is nothing quite like writing out mathematics on a giant rolling chalk board (we'd call it a black board but it is actually a satisfying deep green). Teachers use them for lessons, speakers for lectures and students for discussing ideas and solving problems in lessons.

A vibrant array of clubs and societies run at lunchtime and after school, from cryptic crosswords, to feminist society, to recreational maths and debating. Be inspired, and develop lifelong interests and skills.
Robotics
Our Lego robots club is run by Professor Matthew Howard, a senior lecturer in robotics at King's College London. Our educational programme is the product of school and university in partnership.
Student canteen
The bright and clean canteen space is ideal for eating your lunch and enjoying some relaxation time with friends. Students have occasionally been found to be playing strategic board games…

Students have a large, bright and airy canteen for hanging out, eating snacks and lunches, and resting their brains! Students can use the kettles, microwave and fridges. Twice a week we put out a fresh fruit box to provide healthy sustenance.

NM/KB office
We provide academic and pastoral support to our students through our tutorial system. Each student is assigned a dedicated tutor and belongs to one of four houses, each named after a celebrated mathematician: Ramanujan, Langlands, Mirzakhani and Noether.

The school has installed an extra 11 taps at 3 locations in the school - fast and convenient hand washing for all!
Student kitchen
Students can use the kitchen facilities in the canteen during break, lunch and free periods. Make a cup of tea, microwave your lunch, grab a free piece of fruit or a snack from our trust shop (and pop some coins in the honesty-box).

Room 8 is one of two Physics labs. In Physics lessons you will learn about the strange and wonderful world of quantum concepts, and you will develop an in-depth knowledge of electricity, vectors, forces, energy and waves.

The school is well located for transport hubs and lies within walking distance of cultural hotspots at the Southbank, Westminster and Central London.
STUDENT CANTEEN
Students have a large, bright and airy canteen for hanging out, eating snacks and lunches, and resting their brains! Students can use the kettles, microwave and fridges. Twice a week we put out a fresh fruit box to provide healthy sustenance.

ROOM 7
Physics Lab
Room 7 is one of two Physics labs. The space is set up for practical work using the equipment from our well-stocked prep room. You could find yourself building circuits, experimenting with collisions, testing radioactivity or recreating a lightning strike.

HALL
The hall can be set up as a classroom for up to 40 students, a lecture theatre for 80, or a multi-table table tennis venue! A huge drop-down screen and speaker system add modern presenting power to the much-loved rolling chalkboards on which advanced mathematics and physics often lies.

ANNEX
Library / Small rooms
Two buildings make up the school site. The annexe houses the library, a classroom, rooms for small group lessons and offices.
NM/KB office
We provide academic and pastoral support to our students through our tutorial system. Each student is assigned a dedicated tutor and belongs to one of four houses, each named after a celebrated mathematician: Ramanujan, Langlands, Mirzakhani and Noether.
Student council
The student council is a student-elected body who have a central role in the school. They organise events, suggest school improvements, represent the school and even interview new staff!

Futures board
Our students go on to study at the very best institutions in the UK and around the world. The vast majority take up degrees in the mathematical sciences at Russell Group universities, with around a quarter going to Oxbridge. This summer students gained places at Cambridge, Oxford, Warwick, Kings, UCL, Imperial, Princeton to name just a few.
Student kitchen
Students can use the kitchen facilities in the canteen during break, lunch and free periods. Make a cup of tea, microwave your lunch, grab a free piece of fruit or a snack from our trust shop (and pop some coins in the honesty-box).
Introduction
A small and thriving state school for 16-19-year olds, King’s College London Maths School (KCLMS) is for students with a particular aptitude and enthusiasm for mathematics. KCLMS widens participation in mathematical education and prepares students for successful careers.
