Though the bioengineered humans adapt within hours and survive. This epidemic started with someone seeing a turtle on its back and attempting to flip it upright. Days. Weeks. They became nauseous, fall to their knees, tumbled over. Symptoms never seen. One of the infected returns to the bunker, and there are scenes of chaos and desperation.

Hot orange flames danced, rushing across Mulwala, kangaroos bounding as fast as possible through the river lands and dry grass catching alight. Habitats lost. Wide eyed children mesmerised by flames. Dogs howling at the apocalypse, and orphaned children escorted by Federation troops to the hatches of the bunkers. Embers fly as red dragonflies through the forest ecosystem. Oxygen is sucked from the air in a cyclonic vacuum. 
HotspotPanoramaOverlayTextImage_ACC1FDDF_E801_EF7E_41CC_C841B3450D2C.text = 2057. There is a new generation of bio-humans and humans: Generation Gamma. They realise they are not so different. The Generation Gamma rebel bio human convergence has two new missions: to rebuild Mulwala, and to return species to create a new ecosystem of trees, shrubs, grass, and flowers. Humanity and wilderness to be restored, modified, back from the dead world. Avoc and Sarah are in a new laboratory, creating a database of species returning to the wetlands... 

HotspotPanoramaOverlayTextImage_ACC424FA_E802_5D46_41DB_5AD2E6983E1C.text = Bioengineered humans adapt to the virus as a rebellion begins, of those non- bioengineered humans losing family and friends to the turtle virus. The rebel humans begin killing the turtles at rapid pace. The bio-humans, programmed and coded to protect wilderness, are conflicted. Pushing, arguing, offensive words. The tension escalates. Confusion, and rebel humans are killed as they move toward a nest of turtles with poison.

The walls of the bunkers often implode due to water pressure from new underground rivers. They can survive longer, though not by much. As the roaring sound abates, and after hours of silence, the hatch is opened. Outside, the black charred remains of tree roots are below vanishing storm clouds. Felled eucalyptus and Currajong trees.

HotspotPanoramaOverlayTextImage_D23C3790_E87E_FBC2_41E2_6647DE891EEA.text = Humans forced underground into bio-base bunkers beneath the rivergum tree roots on the bank of the river. The further people went underground the harder to breathe the polluted air. These bunkers have sheltered yet another generation of bio-enhanced humans and non-bio humans. The bioengineered humans have been created to conserve species, immune to the numerous viruses plaguing the planet now. Panic. The world has not experienced something like this since 2020. 
HotspotPanoramaOverlayTextImage_AD76C383_E801_BBC6_41D5_0731EDD3173A.text = On the surface, a virus is breeding through the mud following the flash floods, amongst the turtle population in the river and billabongs overhung with tree galls and fire damaged canopies. The humans emerge to see Mulwala razed, and huge banks of black mud from flood and ash. The dam wall is dark with the sludge which has run over the brim of the dam. A section of the wall has broken. Dead bodies of people float, of those who had not made it to higher ground. 
HotspotPanoramaOverlayTextImage_ACC6FB28_E83E_54C2_41E6_0DE82E856122.text = Sarah sees Metac waving from behind a Wattle tree, within which two Wattlebirds begin to sing, having returned to their habitat at Mulwala. Sarah and Sylith come forward from behind an Elderberry tree, their hands in the air. Spitz yells to them that they have a vaccine that is worth testing: turtle DNA, crushed gum leaves and bio-human cells. Sarah shows trust, rolls up the sleeve of her jumper. Sylith and Spitz, Metac and Sarah decide that they must work together to survive. 
HotspotPanoramaOverlayTextImage_ACDA7EB9_E803_EDC2_41E7_EDBC4784EEB4.text = The rebels retreat among the trees and burned-out homes for months, fearful of the stronger bio-humans. Then one afternoon, a rebel leader turns to converse with another. Sarah and Sylith. At this moment, back in a laboratory in the prefabricated bunker, biohuman Avoc is testing a turtle for the virus. He uses his own immune cells to eventually create a vaccine. With utmost haste, he sends two bio-humans, Spitz and Metac, out to the ravaged Mulwala area with a message.
