Our staff are professional, kind and approachable and aim to make each service that takes place in our facility individual and personal. The team at Lakelands want to make every service perfect for the families that have entrusted us in providing such an important service. Families are encouraged to pick songs of meaning for services, bring photos, or send photos to be displayed on the screen in the large service chapel; we even welcome beloved family pets to attend. Lakelands Crematorium is non-denominational and open to all religions as well as those with no religious orientation. We can provide a bespoke service that is a reflection of yours and your families wishes.
We pride ourselves on our ability here to create a home away from home environment where each family feels important and unrushed in an environment that has been designed to make such a difficult time just a little bit easier.

Lakelands Funeral Home & Crematorium is situated on its own landscaped elevated grounds adjacent to the Dublin Road, on the outskirts of Cavan Town. The grounds offer ample parking spaces, with dedicated accessibility parking. Here, you will also find our Memorial Garden and Columbarium, where a seating area provides a quiet space to remember those laid to rest here.
The magnificent interior provides a beautiful, tranquil setting with comfort a priority. Two recently refurbished rooms are available for funeral services, viewings or private family time.

Welcome to Lakelands Funeral Home & Crematorium website, serving families in the Cavan Area since 1938. Lakelands Funeral Home and Crematorium is a family run business. The Funeral Business was established in 1938 by Declan’s late uncle Joe Finnegan who later entrusted it to Declan in 1988. Since then, Declan has continuously improved the business, adding an embalming service in 1993 when he became a qualified embalmer, purchasing the Funeral Home and adding a memorials business and more recently, the Crematorium.


We are a full service funeral home with a focus on traditional service offerings, including:
