In the Sarmiento Neighborhood, migrant women carry out the Community Kitchen. In the Cultural Center Los Amigxs, the popular pot is raised, which in turn, is a meeting of knowledge. In that meeting between women, techniques, recipes, intimate talks, laughter, gossip, and concerns are cooked every day, both about migrant trajectories and experiences, ways to take care of themselves in sexual life, situations of gender violence with which they were dealing or conversations about the dreams, desires, and projects of each one. For those who migrate, indigenous food is usually a call to encounter where the palate can move us in time and space to places of origin and moments of childhood: the kitchen awakens and values migrant memories.
In this experience, most of the participating migrants were from rural areas. Their journeys of contrasted lives between the countryside and the city led us to value the invisible rural work in urban areas, work that continues to feed us today. We hope that these talks, ideas, meetings, and sharing will continue to be reproduced. In this plastic sample accompanies the community recipe book that the women built in their meetings. They were embroidered on household textile objects, words, and phrases that emerged in the kitchen. The always incomplete and open recipe book is a bet to circulate; as the recipes from generation to generation from neighbor to neighbor circulate, these migrant and rural memories of our women of the Reconquista Area ruminate in the cooking of hundreds of popular pots.

Hands In the Dough & Ear In the Companion
In the Sarmiento Neighborhood, migrant women carry out the Community Kitchen. In the Cultural Center Los Amigxs, the popular pot is raised, which in turn, is a meeting of knowledge. In that meeting between women, techniques, recipes, intimate talks, laughter, gossip, and concerns are cooked every day, both about migrant trajectories and experiences, ways to take care of themselves in sexual life, situations of gender violence with which they were dealing or conversations about the dreams, desires, and projects of each one. This is a compilation of stories about plants that accompanied the memory of women from Paraguay who migrated to Argentina. This book was written during the educational process carried out at the Adult School of the San Blas chapel, in the Eucalyptus neighborhood of José León Suárez, during 2019.
We bring here a piece of that popular story that brings together smells, flavors, landscapes and plants from all those lands and those hands that make up the great cord of the Buenos Aires suburbs. Our tapestry of Latin American cultures is nourished by an ancestral wealth transmitted orally from generation to generation. From the Guaraní land to the giant of the Plata, we invite you to travel this historic path that unites our villages from the hands of their Paraguayan women and their yuyo plants, celebrating the great feast of botanical knowledge in the public school.

VENUS
Venus(s) of the Reconquista
A Venus del Reconquista is a collective work amassed in classes and meetings by the neighbors and colleagues of José León Suárez. Everyone models Venus in the image and likeness of their bodies and their dreams. As a popular myth, our Venus began as a unique work made by the artist Gabi Arias and given to Lorena Pastoriza, a surgeon and community reference, as a tribute to her struggle. That first image the companions of the Reconquista Table were recognizing each other and multiplying the Venus, the organ of the imperfect, a feast of bodies where we are all beautiful. Those who raise the pots, those who run the Ceamse sheds, the friends, those who stop the police, those who do school, those who build the neighborhoods, our women of community utopias.
When we became works of art, we began to recognize where our traits came from, what our marks were, the scars, the colors and the shapes where our desires and our memory came in. In the ceramic mornings at the La Carcova Library they multiplied and went out to tour the neighborhoods looking for new bodies and reflexes where they could look at each other. Venus is taking a thousand forms and is an excuse for encounters in which the pa-labra circulates and organization and struggle are amassed.
