Part of the the challenge of farming in the open ocean environment is the need for advanced remote monitoring and farm management technologies. Seaweed Lattice
Lattice structure for seaweed farming covered in the red algae Asparagopsis armata – In addition to exploring the design of new structures for farming seaweed, Ngā Punga o te Moana project will also research species of shellfish and seaweed to determine which hold the most potential for open ocean aquaculture in Aotearoa New Zealand.
