The Quickbin offline inbound process first involves operators scanning totes of stock to empty induct points. The system can then retrieve these totes using M5 robots, taking them either directly to the workstation for pick tasks or positioning them on bottom shelves so that C56 robots can store them in the racking.

The bigger robot is the C56, these robots are responsible for retrieving from and storing totes in the racking. Having the M5s do the longer distance moves to workstations allows the C56 to exclusively focus on vertical moves within aisles, allowing for high system throughput.

PTL systems will be customised based on the SKU and order profile of the customer. This will include variability in the size and number of locations, as well as potential for static, mobile, and automated put-wall locations.

The system works by lights illuminating to indicate the relevant order location and LED displaying number of units required in the order.

The system optimises to maximise robot efficiency, grouping orders to maximise lines picked per presentation. When users scan the SKU all order locations containing that SKU will light up allowing for more efficient “cluster picking”.

The AMR system is capable of delivering both shelving pods and full pallet pods to workstations. AMR storage locations are extremely flexible as they can accommodate both small and large SKUs.
