4. Cold forming process
The SACMA SP270EL cold forming machine is a high-performance 6 station machine that allows the production of parts with complex shapes and very tight tolerances, guaranteeing productivity and quality.
With its extended cutting length and longer die ejection, it’s perfect for long screws, axles, and special parts.
And thanks to its servo-controlled wire feed, it can also handle short parts with equal efficiency.
Its flexible design supports a wide range of applications — from standard components to the most complex precision parts.
This capability gives us a clear competitive edge in producing difficult, high-precision parts for the automotive industry and for next-generation smart infrastructure.

7. Washing & heat treatment
After forming, fasteners undergo a washing process to remove oils, metal shavings, and other contaminants from manufacturing.
This is followed by heat treatment, where the fasteners are heated to a specific temperature and then cooled in a controlled manner to enhance their mechanical properties such as strength, hardness, and durability.
These steps are essential to ensure the fasteners meet performance standards and are suitable for demanding applications.

8. Optical sorting & packing
Optical sorting is used to inspect fasteners for defects by using high-speed cameras and sensors to check dimensions, surface quality, and overall integrity. Only parts that meet strict quality standards pass through to the next stage.
After sorting, the accepted fasteners are automatically counted and packaged through a bagging system, ensuring accuracy and consistency for shipment or further assembly.

9. Warehouse transfer
After bagging, the fasteners are placed on a pallet and transported to the warehouse via an electric tug. Once in the warehouse, they are boxed and stored in designated locations, ready for distribution.
This organised flow ensures efficient handling, accurate stock management, and timely delivery to customers or downstream processes.

Over the last four years, we’ve invested 7.6 million euros to strengthen and modernize our operations.
5.5 million euros in state-of-the-art machinery.
1 million euros in production infrastructure, including a secondary electrical cabin, an advanced air extraction system, and a power supply with busbars.
800,000 euros in a finished product warehouse and internal logistics.
And 300,000 euros in buildings.
Thanks to these investments, we now have two fully independent production departments—each equipped with its own electrical substation, air extraction system, compressed air system, and dedicated power supply.

Our site manufactures for well-known global brands, distributing products to multiple locations across four continents.
We specialize in externally threaded cold-forged components, produced to precise customer drawings. Over time, we’ve expanded into new sectors, including energy, technology, smart infrastructure, and light vehicles.
With the achievement of the IATF 16949 accreditation, we’ve diversified into the automotive sector, creating a more balanced portfolio of customers.
In addition, TR Italy is proudly certified to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, reinforcing our commitment to quality, sustainability, and workplace safety.

Tools like the Fischer Scope provide precise coating thickness and material analysis, while 3D digital microscopes reveal surface flaws in detail. Tensile and hardness testers confirm strength and consistency, ensuring fasteners meet performance standards. A 2D optical meter verifies dimensions, and a roughness tester checks surface finish for durability.
Salt spray testing evaluates corrosion resistance to estimate the life span of screws, while mass spectrometer analysis verifies material composition during both incoming raw material inspection and finished product inspection.
Using this equipment enhances quality control, reduces failures, and strengthens customer confidence.

3. Raw material
Seventy percent of raw materials consist of green steel, produced in the EU using ARC furnaces. These furnaces recycle waste from cold metal stamping, significantly reducing carbon emissions. The remaining thirty percent is sourced from traditional processes using virgin raw materials.
At TR Italy, raw materials supplied from Italy, Spain, and Germany are stored in the warehouse for up to two months. From there, materials are moved daily to the production shop floor, ensuring availability for the next 24 hours of cold-forming operations. This proactive handling strategy ensures efficient re-stocking, a steady workflow, and minimized downtime by keeping materials close to the point of use.

11. Warehousing
The warehousing operation involves the organised storage, handling, and management of finished goods to ensure efficient inventory control and timely distribution.
Upon arrival, products are scanned, boxed, and placed in designated storage locations based on item type, batch, or customer requirements.
The warehouse uses a systematic layout and tracking system to allow for easy retrieval and stock rotation. Regular audits and inventory checks are carried out to maintain accuracy and reduce the risk of stock discrepancies. This operation is crucial in supporting the smooth flow of goods from production to delivery.

Sustainability
At TR Italy’s Umbria facility, a powerful step towards sustainability has just been completed.
In January 2024, we closed the Galvanic plant, improving air quality, cutting water and energy use, and reducing chemical waste to zero.
Step by step, progress has continued. Replacing lamps with LEDs, installing inverter motors, switching from methane heating to efficient heat pumps, recycling oil for reuse in production, and adopting washable cloths to cut waste.
Today, 70% of our raw materials come from green steel produced in the EU with arc furnaces, recycling waste from cold metal stamping and significantly reducing carbon emissions. But our biggest milestone has been solar energy.
The project, made possible through the proactive partnership between Trifast and Inveco, now powers the facility with an impressive solar Panel system generating 1.4 gigawatt hours per year, reinforcing TR's commitment to sustainability.
We currently generate 40% of the energy we use and for the remaining 60%, we are working on sourcing it entirely from certified green energy, produced from renewable sources such as photovoltaic and wind power, rather than fossil fuels.
